The main media event of the Astrakhan region -  the sixth Caspian Media Forum will start on September 10. Its main topic will be ethno-cultural communications in the media space, as well as ecological and ethnic tourism.

Delegations from the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republics of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, and the Russian Federation are expected to arrive. The Turkmen delegation will take part in the online media forum. It is expected that about 300 people will attend the forum this year.

The program of the event includes discussion platforms and a plenary session. The participants will try to develop practical recommendations and project initiatives for the development of a tourist destination based on the ethnobrands of the Caspian states and the border territories of Russia, to develop high-quality ethnotouristic and environmental materials.

On September 9, Astrakhan State University will host a number of events within the framework of the Rossotrudnichestvo youth program "New Generation" and a meeting of the Caspian School of Volunteering. Thanks to this project, 7.5 thousand people from more than 130 countries have already visited the country.

The forum will also summarize the results of the contest for the best journalistic work "Caspian without Borders".

The main venue for the Caspian Media Forum will be the Astrakhan State Opera and Ballet Theater.

It is expected that the event will be attended by the governor of the Astrakhan region Igor Babushkin, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, the head of Rossotrudnichestvo Yevgeny Primakov, ambassadors and heads of consular institutions of the Caspian countries, representatives of state authorities of the Caspian states, President of the Guild of Interethnic Journalism Margarita Liange.
